Welcome to the New World

In the evenings, I sometimes look around and think – I should do that tomorrow.

And then in the morning, at some point, I might make a start at whatever it is, and do that until I feel like I’ve done enough.

Or else I might not do any of it and it’s still waiting when the evening comes round again.

And you know what?

The days still pass.

Bogies attack when you wake up in the small hours.

Don’t listen.

If they don’t go away get up and make a cup of tea and get on with something useful they can’t conquer that.

We watch – on TV or the internet – and admire birds and animals competing, often violently, sometimes to the death, for territory, partners, food.

We condemn similar behaviour by humans.
